Directions for Eversfield Lodge & Bull's Cottage

  • From Exeter, take the A30 to Sourton Cross.
  • At Sourton Cross, leave the A30 signposted to Lewdown & Okehampton and join the A386 to Bideford, Holsworthy & Bude.
  • At the small Fowley Cross roundabout, take the first exit left joining the A3079, signed Halwill, Bude & Holsworthy.
  • After approx. 7km ignore the first turn left to Bratton Clovellly and proceed to the Castle Cross junction at the phone mast and turn left to Bratton Clovelly 3 miles.
  • In Bratton Clovelly go past the 'Clovelly Inn' pub on your left keeping the church ahead on your right, then turn left down the hill signed to Boasley & South Reed Fisheries.
  • At the bottom of the hill turn right where you see the sign for 'Eversfield Organic & Eversfield Lodge'
  • Continue for approx 1km along this track and pass the cottages and farm buildings following signs left for Eversfield Lodge & Bull's Cottage.
  • After 100m turn left through the gate into the parking area. Eversfield Lodge is on the left and Bull's Cottage on the right.

Directions to The Coach House:

Follow directions as above into Bratton Clovelly past the pub and turn left down the hill signposted to Boasley. Don't take the turning right to Eversfield Organic and Eversfield Lodge at the bottom of the hill. Instead, continue up the hill for approx 50m past the entrance to the white Manor House on the left.

Turn left after the Manor House onto a gravel track and then left again into the Coach House parking area.

Public Transport

  • The closest mainline train stations are at Exeter and Plymouth.
  • During the summer months there is an occasional local train service connecting Exeter to Okehampton.
  • There is an hourly bus service from Exeter Coach Station which connects with all National Express Services.
  • Flybe and Air South West have a scheduled service from London and Manchester to both Exeter and Plymouth airports.

Introduction

Eversfield Lodge is located in Bratton Clovelly and offers eight guest rooms, all en-suite. The house is over a three hundred years old and has been recently refurbished. Whilst we aim to meet the needs of all our guests there are some period features of the house which might make access difficult for people with limited mobility.

We are located within a 20 minute walk to Bratton Clovelly.

The nearest shops are approximately 9miles away.

Mobile phone reception at Eversfield Lodge is generally good.

Car Parking/Main Entrance

Private parking is available.

Main Entrance

Access to our property is gained from the Parking area down four granite steps. This is fairly well lit at nigh. On entering the Lodge, it gives access to an area where there is a further step down of 130mm (5ins), leading through the 840mm (33ins) wide door into the Lounge in to the reception room/hall where the guests are welcomed and sign in. Then the Lounge is down one step 130mm (5ins), leading through the 840mm (33ins) wide door. Or down a twosteps 130mm (5ins), leading through the 840mm (33ins) wide door into the Bar area. Or up one step130mm (5ins), leading through the 840mm (33ins) wide door into the Pool room.

Welcome Area

Guests are welcomed in the hallway, which is level throughout, where they are asked to register.The area is well lit with overhead lighting.

Assistance can be given with luggage.

Bedrooms

Our guest rooms are accessed by means of stairs. There is a hand rail on one side.

Our beds are normally made with up duvets but sheets and blankets can be provided if preferred. Our standard pillows are feather and down, however alternatives are also available. Please specify before your arrival if required. There is seating, bedside tables, bedside lamps, a wardrobe, plus a chest of drawers/dressing table provided in each room.

All bedrooms have ample room around the bed for wheelchair access. Guests should specify if they would prefer a twin or double room.

Each bedroom has its own key along with a front door key to allow guests to come and go as they please.

All bedrooms have ample room around the bed for wheelchair access. Guests should specify if they would prefer a twin or double room.

Bathroom/En-suite

All bathrooms have high sided baths, a toilet and sink. 1 bathroom has a stand in shower. The rest all have wall mounted showers above the bath. There are mirrors positioned above all sinks. And wall mounted towel radiators.

Public Areas- Halls, Stairs & landings

All public areas, hall, stairs, and landings are well lit using a combination of ceiling or table-lamps

The upstairs hallway has carpeted flooring with 2 runner type carpets.

There are two steps to the guest breakfast room.

There are no steps to the down stairs toilet which leads off from the hallway.

The house is fully centrally heated throughout.

Additional Information

There are automatic smoke alarms throughout the property.

Public Areas-Toilet

There is a small unisex downstairs toilet, which is available to guests during the day/evening.

The toilet located off the hallway and is step free/level entry.

Breakfast/Dining room

The breakfast/dining room is situated on the ground floor and is accessed via a wide, two step entry doorway. The breakfast room is oak flored and has large windows allowing plenty of natural light supplemented by adjustable overhead and wall lights.

There are oak tables with co-ordinating chairs.

There is a co-ordinating oak cabinet and buffet table where guests can help themselves to cereal, fruits, yoghurts, juices and toast.

Garden

For guests we have a large open garden, with tables and chairs, which guests may use as a designated smoking area, as smoking is not permitted in the property. An ash tray can be provided on request.

Additional information

There are ‘In Case of Fire’ instructions posted on the back of the guest room doors and in the information books provided in each room.

There is an information folder for each of the bedrooms with maps giving information on local restaurants/pubs, travel etc.

Free Broadband and Wi-Fi facilities are available

We are happy to cater for special diets or particular likes or dislikes. Please advise us before your arrival. We can also refrigerate prescription medication and additionally store any perishable food in our fridge for a limited period.
